Intel announces Rs 5,000 Desktop

Now their is a great news for everyone that are interested in computers but don't have sufficient amount of money to purchase it but now Intel has announced the launch of a desktop range that starts at Rs 5,000($ 125).This launching of these computers at such a low cost definitely brings computer revolution in the country.On this event Intel's South Asia's managing director of sales and marketing group R Sivakumar said that "We recognise there is an urgent need for industry and government to collaborate to enable people to connect to the Internet".


The launching of these computers are come under the Intel's India movement i.e "Connected Indians" which aims at providing to users cheap machines dubbed as nettops and netbooks.Collaborating with Intel are industry partners such as original equipment manufacturers and Internet service providers, as well as the government.Less than a decade ago, personal computers came attached with a price tag of more than Rs 50,000, and the average person could at best own an 'assembled' desktop at anything between Rs 20,000-Rs 25,000.

Based on Intel's Atom processor - the chipmaker's lowest priced processor launched earlier this year - OEMs such as Acer, HCL, Zenith, Intex, Lenovo, Wipro and Novatium, showcased various designs at the event.We all Indians hope that "The 'Connected Indians' movement will bring with it rapid broadband deployment and help harness the powers of Internet to accelerate inclusive social and economic change".In addition to this Intel also signed an agreement with state-owned telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd to jointly popularise broadband Internet and wireless broadband technology WiMax.

Intel will make smarter chips

The world's largest chip maker company Intel is now going to make world's smallest and smarter chips.These chips are internet savvy computer chips that are used in a variety of ways ranging from industrial robotics to small consumer devices.The Intel claims that this chip provides better performance and energy efficiency than traditional SoCs (System on Chip).Target areas for the new chips are Intel's computing businesses, consumer electronics, mobile Internet devices and embedded markets.As all we know in the starting of the year Intel already launched its new series of microprocessors Atom.These microprocessor family built on the Intel Architecture -a fundamental semiconductor platform the company is eager to use in its new chips too.Yet 15 SoCs are projects are planned in which many of them based on Atom.
